Highlights During an international seminar in France 2009 Supreme Master Ching Hai told stories of Buddhism Sufism and Islam which all remind us that the biggest obstacle of one’s spiritual practice is our ego. As long as one still attaches to the fame and wealth of this world or to the expected benefits of spiritual practice then even if he becomes a world champion he cannot realize his true self. Therefore we should truly renounce everything including the ego so as to be great. Master compared enlightenment to the water of life: “Meditation is for yourself because without water we die of thirst. Without the water of life we suffer we die inside.” If a person has triumphed over his own self he becomes very bright and his light can pierce all the corners of Heaven and Earth.
