Notice that in this painting only half of the smaller tree was painted into the picture. The Supreme Master Ching Hai explained “Only in this way could people continue to imagine how the tree grows taller. It would be meaningless if the whole tree could be seen!”. Although the two trees are positioned on different levels they are on the same slope. This shows that our internal spiritual levels may be different on the path of practice but all of us are heading for the same goal and keep growing tall. The painting exudes a unique kind of lonesome beauty signifying the solitary yet noble state of mind of a sincere spiritual practitioner.
