Many troubles in this world come from our identification of material things as being mine yours ours theirs etc. Through a story of how a high-level monk taught his disciples to become free of attachments Supreme Master Ching Hai explained that we practitioners must be able to put down everything to open our wisdom and eliminate our ego. If we cannot put down all our desires and attachments we won’t be liberated. Heaven and Earth are actually reflections of our understanding and attitude toward spiritual practice. Coming into this world we should strive to help with the spiritual upliftment of others by walking on the right path and beautifying our own hearts. This way we would change the atmosphere even globally creating Heaven on Earth.
